The Emerging Artists Division of Novo Artists was created to nurture aspiring singers, conductors and stage directors who are at an interim point between completion of academic training and full-time professional careers by providing comprehensive proactive career counseling services and management support.
Singers with solo experience gained either during a paid performing apprenticeship or through roles with professional companies are also eligible.
Exceptional talent and career potential are the primary criteria for selection.
Applicants should be able to present a secure technique, evidence of solid training, a totally professional appearance, a distinctive musicality, a high level of personal artistry, readiness to perform and unconditional dedication to forging a career.
All applicants must submit a high quality cassette tape or CD of no more than 15 minutes in length, comprising varied pieces from opera and oratorio, a current headshot, résumé, repertoire lists for opera and concert and at least two letters of recommendation. Videotapes, DVDs and CD-ROMs are preferred for choreographers, conductors, designers and directors. All recorded materials and the live auditions will be heard by NAI Founder and President Celia P. Novo.
All applicants will be notified as to whether they have been scheduled for an audition or an interview.
